I've been comparing the 09 Glory to the Reign x1 lately and the glory has been shifted closer to the 08 Reign x frame geometry. The new Glory has a 67 degree head angle now(same as the 08 Reign X). The seat tube angle and Head tube length is the only real difference that I can see now. The other measurements are only a few millimeters difference. Whats your take on this? I thought the 65 degree range for the head tube angle was what you wanted? Does that mean I can put a duel crown fork on the Reign X1?

That's very interesting... I would still assume since they are no longer using the DW link, spare parts for the DW link bikes will be scarce. The gu even said that they might be out of stock once in a while, which tells me you could be off your bike at a crucial time in the season waiting for a derailler hanger, or a linkage bolt, etc... I'd stick with the Giant to be honest. It's just so simple to get whatever you need at a moments notice, not to mention the build quality is far superior to that of an IH. In my opinion,.,

1st question to answer would be what kind of riding have you been doing since getting back into the sport?
fair enough consider a DH bike if it's all your riding or are riding tough DH courses regularly however if the DH your riding is fairly smooth i.e not big pointy boulders and big gaps/step downs then a full on DH bike is probably overkill that's before even considering 2years worth of wear on frame and parts, i'd say no, you gotta ask why someone would want that trade in the 1st place.

Personally, I would say No. I would really think about the valueof the Sunday 6 months from now when no more are bing made, and spare parts are hard to come by. If the ReignX is not enough travel, maybe a take a look at the Glory series - Glory 8 and Glory DH. That way it wouldn't be such a huge change in ride characteristics...

Depends if its the right size and depends upon the quality of the condition and parts. If you are looking to swap your reign for a dh bike, its tought to beat a sunday
